Ride Evaluation
Magnum XL-200 is one of those rides that you could look at all day and not be bored. It is truly a beautiful roller coaster to look at. Magnum is also one of the most inspirational roller coasters in my opinion due to it's history and how it broke down the 200 ft. barrier. Designer Ron Toomer had shown what it takes to build a true scream machine. So how does this ride hold up today? Well, it's dwarfed by many coasters around the world, but at Cedar point it's still one of those rides that dominates the skyline along with others. So Being that I wanted to ride this coaster so bad, I kinda knew how the ride would turn out. And out of the 5 rides I did I found many different experiences. First off is the roughness. I found it really enjoyable and quite intense in the 1st and 2nd car. The smoothest being car 1 row two (so your not on the wheels). As you move to the back of the train I found it less enjoyable and more painful. But as the overall experience, The ride is quite intense for a 27 year old roller coaster. And If you are an Arrow Coaster fanboy than this is a special treat. But I'm not a huge Arrow fanboy. But I really love this roller coaster for many reasons on a personal note. But if you were a general rider, I'd mostly recommend staying in the front car any row for the best experience of this coaster. Though keep in mind that this ride is old enough to start ageing. Though plainly, Magnum XL-200 is one hell of a coaster.
